As we are still within the first month after the Sept 11 attacks, I look for examples of heroes around me. Living in western Fairfax County, there is plenty- albeit in a decreasing amounts.

After reading your description of the conditions and morale of the Union troops, the weather and the position of the Confederate line, Stevens charge is heroism in my back yard. I will bring my kids here with evidence from your web-site and explain to them that the heroism that they see today in the papers has been an American hallmark since 1776. Thanks for your efforts
