Thank You for this interesting site. I lived in Chantilly for 15 years and am thankful

We haven't been able to find our
greatgreatgrandfather. He (legend ) went into the war
and never came home and was thought to have been killed at Antitam. I remember the
feelings I had at Gettysburg and have the same feelings as I peruse this site. I wonder
how many of our men and women could go through the suffering and hardships today as our
brave ancestors did.

I think it is good to perserve the memory of those who lost their lives. I had a great
uncle from Texas serve in the Civil War, he too, lost his life. I have a letter he wrote
to my grandmother, when he was leaving from Galveston, Sept. 1861. It is very special to
me.

WOW! I want to thank you for a truly informative site. My Great-Great Grandfather,
Phineas F. Knight was in the 21st. Massachusetts, and died at Chantilly. Reading the
account of the battle, touched me deeply. It gave me a sence of pride that a relative of
mine, fought so bravely, yet sadden me to think about the terrible circumstances these
brave soldiers must have faced as they lay wounded and perhaps even dying, waiting for
help to come. Thanks again for the energy and efforts used to put together this wonderful
site !

I was a one time resident of chantilly and me and my brother eric did once find a
musket bullet in our backyard. It was located in our backyard at 13203 jasper rd in the
woods behind the golf course. That is a location not on your battlefield map. (703)450-7396
Thank you for an interesting web site.
