I find it very troublesome that local
disinterest and a developers bulldozer have destroyed the history of this great area-If I
could say one thing to the men who's graves were found I would say thank you for their
committment to duty, honor and country, something which is lacking in this country at the
present time

My grandparents were the Hooks, who owned
five acres along West Ox Rd, in the heart of the battle. I have tried to donate relics
from the battle in the past, but was met by local disinterest.

Enjoyed your website very much. My 3rd
Great Grandfather's, 1st. Lt. William Magee, and Private John Richard Burch, both of
Company I, 9th Louisiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment, fought here at the battle of
Chantilly. William Magee was wounded at this battle. I really do appreciate your efforts
in trying to preserve the history of this battlefield for future generations, and for the
descendants of the men who fought there, both the Blue and the Grey. You have a very
beautiful website and I thank you for helping preserve the memory of the men who died for
their country in the American Civil War.
