Private from the 21st Virginia Infantry Regiment

Pictured on the right is a Virginia private wearing a state militia uniform. The brass waist belt plate is identical to the one shown on the left. Both the waist belt and breast plate are plain while the buttons are usually embossed with the Virginia State Seal
