Parrot Shell Fragments, 6 Pounder Solid Shot & a Parrot Shell for 3 inch Parrot Rifle. The intact Parrot shell is a dud. The fuse was driven into the powder chamber when it hit the ground.

The two perfectly matched Parrot shell fragments were found about ten feet apart on the south shoulder of Rt. 50. The spacing of the fragments show that the shell exploded close to the ground. This also shows that the Union field artillery had the range on Jackson's troops deployed along the shoulder of Rt. 50, north of the west woods.
