These are some of the artifacts found on a knoll near Difficult Run.  They most likely belonged to troopers in J.E.B. Stuarts Cavalry Division.

The Voltigeurs (see button) was a Mexican War regiment disbanded at the end of the war in 1848. A Virginia unit most likely used the uniforms or buttons since the letter "V" was embossed on the shield.
