This fossil is from the La Toca mine in the Dominican Republic. The specimen has not been identified and is characterized by an unusual stinger shaped appendage. It also has two long antennas below and just inside of each eye. In the reverse view it shows the hard shell and "stinger" as viewed from above. The specimen was one of six fossils found in a relatively small nugget of red/gold amber that also contained the wings and half of an abdomen of a large insect. |
